LAS CRUCES, NM – The New Mexico Spaceport Authority (NMSA) has initiated the bid process for the construction of internal roadways at Spaceport America. The bid notifications were posted on Thursday, October 8. Interested contractors will need to attend a mandatory pre-bid conference at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, at the Ralph = Edwards Civic Center in Truth or Consequences, NM. A tour of the Spaceport America project site will take place immediately after the pre-bid meeting. Bids will be opened on November 6.
The Internal Roadways bid package (SP-008) can be viewed electronically at the Albuquerque Reprographics PlanWell website (https://order.planwell.com/PWELL_Main.asp?mem=1090). To view the SP-008 Internal Roadways bid documents, enter the following information under the Guest

The package will be available online for viewing through the bid opening date of November 6, 2009. Currently under construction, Spaceport America is the world's first purpose-built commercial space facility. Spaceport America has been working closely with leading aerospace firms such as Virgin Galactic, Lockheed Martin, UP Aerospace, Armadillo Aerospace, and Microgravity Enterprises to develop commercial spaceflight. Spaceport America will have a 10,000-foot runway complete by late summer 2010 with the Terminal Hangar Facility projected to be complete by early 2011.
