Sum Up: Key Events for 2006
- Lonnie Sumpter stated that launch support from White Sands Missile Range was magnificent during the UP Aerospace rocket launch. He went on to say that recovery options are underway and the reason for the failure is unknown at this time.
- Sumpter stated that proposals for the Environmental Impact Study are due today, and both the state of New Mexico and Federal Aviation Administration have evaluation teams in place.
- Chairman Homans stated that having joined the Personal Spaceflight Federation will benefit Spaceport America, because we'll have informal feedback from other organizations in the Federation.
- Members voted to approve a Resolution of Appreciation from the Spaceport Authority to WSMR.
- Chairman Homans reviewed a contract between the Spaceport Authority and Hubert & Hernandez.
- Members voted to approve Ted Morris for the contract of project coordinator.
- Mark Santiago proposed to make the New Mexico Museum of Space History the official repository of historical objects from Spaceport America. Members approved this motion.
- Alan Jefts of DMJM reported that the major elements in the Spaceport America building process are potential users and their needs, architectural image, site access, location of facilities, water studies, and construction.
