UP Aerospace, Inc. was the first company to launch a commercial payload at New Mexico’s Spaceport America. Currently based out of Colorado, they offer complete payload recovery and a wide range of tracking, telemetry, and avionics options.

Spaceport America is in close proximity to White Sands Missile Range, which is advantageous for business. First, White Sands is the only place in the United States, other than the White House, with restricted airspace to infinity. Second, as the world’s premier missile test range, White Sands is prepared to meet the research, development, and testing needs of the private sector. The facility encompasses 3,200 square miles and is the largest open-air/over-land missile range in the Western hemisphere.

The X PRIZE Cup is an annual air and space expo designed to bring together all sections of the aerospace industry to demonstrate their capabilities for the general public. The event features live rockets, static displays, competitions and presentations by some of the industry’s leading minds.

Presently based in Kingsville, Missouri, Payload Specialties launches sounding rockets and heavy lift vehicles for companies involved with the research and development of commercial space technologies and educational payloads. Once a year, or as opportunity permits, the company offers payload space to students on a sounding rocket mission on an application basis to the mid school, high school and university levels

Microgravity Enterprises, Inc., located in Albuquerque, NM, is focused on affordable rocket flight for commercial and educational purposes. Microgravity Enterprises, Inc., has conducted several flights from Spaceport America already, flying special commercial ingredients into space for use in consumer products available at a wide variety of retail stores.
